Recently, CEEG achieved a major milestone in the Tanzania Port Power Upgrade Project. The custom-engineered equipment has been successfully delivered and will soon be put into official operation for the port’s shore-to-ship power facilities.

Custom-Engineered for Extreme Operating Environments
Port shore power loads are characterized by heavy shock loads, complex harmonic content, and long hours of continuous operation. Combined with the high temperatures, intense humidity, and severe salt spray of East Africa's coastal climate, the operational environment places extreme demands on equipment reliability.
To address these unique challenges, CEEG engineered a custom Double-Deck Compact Substation. Unlike conventional single-story structures, the double-deck design utilizes a vertical, three-dimensional layout housing the high-voltage room, transformer room, and low-voltage room. This modular approach delivers full functional capability within a significantly reduced footprint—saving precious ground space in the busy port operational area and perfectly fulfilling the client's strict layout constraints.
Beyond structural innovation, CEEG introduced several specialized enhancements tailored to shore power operation and the coastal climate of East Africa:
Heavy-Duty Anti-Corrosion & Weather Resistance: The substation enclosure and transformer housing feature top-grade anti-corrosion coating processes, preventing rust and degradation during long-term exposure to harsh marine environments.
Superior Harmonic Suppression & Impulse Withstand: Engineered to handle the complex load dynamics of shore-to-ship power, the equipment offers outstanding harmonic resistance and voltage stability, guaranteeing clean, continuous, and high-quality power delivery.
Modular & Rapid On-Site Deployment: Pre-fabricated and fully commission-tested at the factory, the compact substation requires only basic foundation mounting and cable connection on site. This dramatically shortens the construction cycle and minimizes disruption to port operations.

The Tanzania Port Project marks another landmark infrastructure milestone for CEEG in the African market. Previously, CEEG’s advanced power equipment has been widely deployed in key projects across Asia, Europe, and Latin America, spanning power grids, renewable energy, rail transit, and industrial manufacturing.
The successful delivery of this project once again validates CEEG’s comprehensive system capabilities in supporting large-scale overseas port electrification—providing a complete power chain solution from 35kV main transformers and 11kV distribution transformers down to terminal compact substations.
